Anime-themed RTS + RPG Soul Master 1st CBT Interview

Soul Master, a unique mixture of online action role-play and real-time strategy, has recently started to recruit testers on the official site for its upcoming first closed beta test. It's such a pleasure for us to do an interview with Andrew Fernandez, the Producer of Soul Master, and dig out more about Soul Master for our players!

MMOsite: Hi, Andrew! So glad you can take the interview with us! What made you decide to import this anime-themed RTS game whose Korean version is still not tested to North America? You know, this does break away from convention.

Andrew: That's true, generally in the industry these days a publisher will hesitate to import a title to North America without it having already shown itself to be a proven success in Korea, Japan, etc. When we first got a chance to test it though I was honestly shocked at its depth, and we knew then that sitting back and waiting to see the results of the Korean launch before licensing the game would just be time wasted. It's undoubtedly going to be a huge success. In this case we consider it to be an advantage to be able to bring Soul Master here in 2010 and have enormous confidence in its viability in the market.

MMOsite: Would you please give us a brief introduction about this game, as well as its key features?

Andrew: Like you mentioned Soul Master is an MMORTS which is a merging of two genres: MMORPG and real-time strategy. How it functions is that you're in direct control of your character, like in an RPG, but at the same time your character is able to control an army of other units called "Souls". Creating buildings that produce your units or ones that provide defense, progressing through tech trees to gain access to more powerful "Souls" with unique powers during matches, upgrading your units' abilities, and fighting over resources makes up the RTS (real-time strategy) aspect of the game.

MMOsite: Will the game's system requirements be high? Please say something on this aspect!

Andrew: The game looks fantastic on a higher end system of course, but it's been consciously developed with (Soul Master Gold)the average PC gamer in mind. Recommended requirements are anything around a Pentium 3 and 512M RAM, a Radeon 7000 or Geforce 4 graphics card, and 1G hard drive. Lower end systems can definitely still run and enjoy it however, and we'll also be keeping an eye on user feedback. If the demand is there for lowered requirements there shouldn't be any problem accommodating them down the line.
