Go to north of the Gurabashi arena and just west of the Jungle Stalkers there is a small area where the Cold Eye Basilisks dwell. The rate of green item drops on these mobs is extremely high and in addition, even the gray items that they drop are unusually valuable vendor trash(boi gold).

Because of the low equip level, new players may find it very appealing and this little trinket will fetch between 5 and 10 sell ffxi gil very quickly. I put all of them on the AH for 5g bid, 10g buyout and sold the majority of them at buyout(Battle of the Immortals Gold).

If you are a skinner, you also just made a bunch of heavy and thick leather. You can either sell that or use it to make armor to wear or sell. It overall is a great farming spot and a great wow gold making trick.
