Black Prophecy Behind the Scenes

The first thing you'll notice about Black Prophecy is that it looks amazing. The graphics are truly breathtaking, especially for a free-to-play game. Space is an impressive place to just hang about and sight-see, including distinctly different areas like a ship graveyard littered with rusting wrecks, an asteroid field and a stunning view of the many suns orbiting planet Tulima.

It's a shame then that the game is split into instanced sections( Black Prophecy Gold) -- there's no free roam where you can pick a point in space, keep flying end up somewhere strange and mysterious. You'll just end up hitting an invisible wall and be turned around. Space is not, in Black Prophecy's case, vastly, hugely, mind-bogglingly big. Once you discover that, there's a definite sense of disappointment.

There are three ways to quest in the game. You can take on story missions (of which there aren't very many right now, but which Gamigo is busy beavering away on) jobs from characters (which usually involve going into PvP areas and say, killing a certain number of enemy players) and missions from hub terminals, which are the fastest way to level and are always in plentiful supply. Like many MMORPGs, there's a great deal of grind involved in Black Prophecy and the game could really do with more of a variety of missions so gamers don't have to repeat the same ones over and over again until they unlock the next area and mission list(Black Prophecy Money).
